A Decorative Lighting Specification Checklist for Buyers

A Decorative Lighting Specification Checklist for Buyers

An accurate decorative-lighting enquiry needs one model reference and one clearly defined configuration per order line. Record dimensions, material, light source, electrical requirements, quantity and destination together. A catalogue rating or a similar photograph does not resolve missing details.

Read the dimensions before choosing a quantity

HPL-001450 is an aluminum pendant with five concentric reflector surfaces. Its record lists D47.5cm × H19cm, Powder-coated aluminum, Anodized aluminum, E27*1, a Power field of 100W and AC 110–240V input. The body dimensions do not independently establish a selected suspension length or the mounting-plate dimensions. Include those requirements in your brief.

HPL-001450: concentric aluminum reflectors. Specify the fixture body and required suspension as separate measurements.

For contrast, HPL-001444 lists a D25cm × H52cm table-lamp body, Aluminum, Optical Acrylic, LED, a 12W Power field and AC 110–240V input. A table-lamp brief also needs the intended plug, cable and switch requirements. Do not apply a pendant’s installation assumptions to a portable lamp.

Keep ratings and selected components separate

The HPL-001450 record contains a socket light-source label and a separate 100W Power label. This article does not interpret that value as the actual consumption of a fitted bulb, a per-bulb allowance or a verified total-load measurement. Ask for the selected bulb and the applicable fixture rating. For an integrated-LED design, confirm the driver and controls for the chosen electrical version. A voltage range alone does not establish dimming, plug compatibility or complete-fixture certification.

A useful order-line template

Field What your enquiry should identify
Reference HPL model number and the product-page link; retain the same reference when revising the brief.
Configuration Body dimensions, suspension or mounting requirements, material and finish sample reference.
Electrical version Destination supply, light source, plug or hardwired arrangement, controls and required documentation.
Quantity Quantity for each selected configuration, with samples and spare parts listed separately.
Delivery Destination, target date, packing requirements and any phased room or project schedule.

For multiple sizes, keep the same family reference while listing the configurations separately. If a catalogue gives a family-level wattage list without mapping values to individual sizes, request the rating for the chosen size; do not assign wattages by list order or by proportional calculation.

Buyer questions

Is a finish colour the same as a material?

No. Gold-coloured metal may have different base materials. Specify the base material and finish separately, and request a sample reference for appearance.

Should I calculate power by multiplying a catalogue number by the number of lamps?

Only after the meaning and scope of that number are confirmed. A recorded Power field may not identify per-bulb power or measured consumption. Keep the original rating and ask for the selected configuration.

Can I send an enquiry before every detail is decided?

Yes. Include the fixed requirements and identify the decisions still open. That is more useful than filling unknown fields with assumptions.
